10:30 a.m. | Bride & Groom Getting Ready

GROOMSMEN TIME ALLOTMENT: 45 MINUTES/1 HOUR
BRIDESMAIDES TIME ALLOTMENT: 1.5 HOURS
IDEAL TIME OF THE DAY: MORNING OR AFTERNOON

In the morning I usually begin with photographing the groomsmen getting ready since it is a very quick process that usually only takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Then I’ll head over to the bridesmaids to photograph their morning prep and stay with them until we head off to the ceremony. If I have two photographers I will split us up and have my second shooter stay with the guys while I stay with the gals.

2:00 p.m. | Ceremony

IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT: 1 HOUR
IDEAL TIME OF THE DAY: AFTERNOON
IDEAL LOCATION: SHADED AREA OUTDOORS WITH GREENERY

The ceremony usually only takes 30 to 60 minutes. Then we proceed immediately after with family photos. This works best if we all stay around the same location the ceremony was. Family photos can be done very quickly and easily with the assistance of a list with specific groupings of family members on it. The process will also go even more smooth with the helping hand of a family member that is familiar with everyone and can round up people that are in need of being photographed.

3:00 p.m. | Wedding Party Photos

IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT: 1.5/2 HOURS
IDEAL TIME OF THE DAY: AFTERNOON
IDEAL LOCATION: PARKS WITH SHADE & GREENERY

Wedding party photos are something I usually allot a generous amount of time for. This is when we can go to unique locations close by our venues to capture a variety of images. I’ll be able to photograph the bridesmaids and groomsmen both together and alone. I will be sure to capture bride and groom with the wedding party and on their own as a couple. We can really get creative and have fun with these photos!

6:00 p.m. | Reception

IDEAL TIME ALLOTMENT: APROX. 3-4 HOURS
IDEAL TIME OF THE DAY: AFTERNOON OR EVENING
IDEAL LOCATION: YOUR RECEPTION VENUE

Reception begins with cocktail hour around 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. this is when I’ll be going around to photograph all the lovely details at your venue before guests are seated. I’ll capture some candid moments during cocktail hour of good laughs and even better friends. Then once the reception begins I’ll be able to follow up with all of the other highlights from the grand entrances to the speeches, dances, and cake cut! If time allows I would love to take the bride and the groom out for sunset photos which should only take about 15 minutes. Sunset photos with just the two of you always makes for the most romantic images of the day!
